Catching up...

My sweet little lovey Dovey!  Lars is SUCH an angel.  Always happy and loves to cuddle.  His favorite thing these days is jumping in his jumper.  He just stares at people and loves faces. Lately he's been doing so-so on sleeping through the night.  If he wakes up its just once and he takes a bottle and goes right back down.  And we FINALLY got him out of swaddling!!  As soon as we put him in his crib he rolls on his belly where he sleeps all night.  Otherwise he's content just rolling around all over the floor during the day :)
At the park...
Bouncing is exhauuuusting.
cut his hair finally!! He was starting to look like he had a comb over because it's all fallen out on the sides & back.

And guess which big brother had some fun with a blue marker!!  Really, Deacon?!

It's not a real beer can I swear :)

Kids say the darndest things...

I'm not kidding lately Deacon has been killing me with things he says!!! I have to remind myself the whole purpose of my blog was to document this stuff!  So here we go.. As I posted earlier Kyle & I just celebrated our anniversary.  I was telling Deacon that mommy & daddy have been married 6 years now and he continued to ask me if he was at our wedding.  Of course I told him no and he said "was I still in daddy's balls?!" ..... UMM WHAT?!?!?  I'm guessing he overheard Kyle making a non-kid friendly comment one day because I have no other ideas as to where he could've gotten that from! Regardless I will always get a laugh thinking about that.

Another one for the record books... Deacon had a follow up appointment at the doctor and of course he always asks us to blow up a rubber glove for him to play with.  I think Kyle made a comment that it looked like cow udders so as we were leaving the room he put the blow up glove between his legs and started MOOing as loud as he could.  Doctors, nurses, and whoever else of course had drawn their attention to him and bursted out laughing.  Obviously that just got him to do it louder and he started walking slower so they would all look at him.  I heard "look at him, he's pretending to be a cow!"  I eventually shooshed him with a smile and he said to me, "but I like to make them laugh!"  A few days later the doctor called me with some test results and before hanging up she told me that was one of the cutest and funniest thing she's seen since starting pediatrics!! And she's not young!! Ohhhh my lil boy :) here he was earlier in the room.

He also just started swimming lessons again.  I loooove watching him because after everything he does he looks at me for approval and then gives me the thumbs up.  After class I told him how awesome he did and he said.. "I did my best for you, mommy!" Awwwww :) I told my sister this story and she goes "Did you tell him he better because Remitz's are winners"? Haha nope but I'll use that line next time!!!

Easter & Other Things

We had a great Easter this year!  We went to the Easter service on Friday night.  It's so important to us that our kids know that Easter is more than egg hunts & chocolate.  Deacon is SO curious about Jesus and asks so many questions.  He really gets it though and it makes me so proud!!  He loves his super heros (Batman, Superman, etc.) but he loves to tell people that Jesus is the biggest super hero of all becuase he died on the cross to save all of our lives.  I am just so thankful that we have a Lord that would do that for us.. so we can live eternally with Him.  How amazing is that!!!

Besides Easter Kyle & I had our 6th wedding anniversary.  We were going to have a nice fancy dinner but ended up home with the kids.. which turned out great.  We'll celebrate another night!!  Honestly, I know this is cliche but I love that man so much more today than I did when I married him.. I never thought that'd be possible!!!!  Something about seeing your man become a father and really be a true partner in life.  Always there to help.  And the biggest for me is how he is setting an example to his kids of what a Godly man is and to love Jesus.  I'm whipped!

News on Deacon's HSP diagnosis... He was doing REALLY good the week I came home from Arizona.  His rash and bruises are really going away on his legs and look so much better. Then all a sudden he woke up on Monday throwing up... again and again and again :(  I stayed home with him and he never got better.  The next day he felt bad still but no vomiting.  Today is about the same... just praying he can get over this soon and feel better.  Breaks my heart!!!!

Arizona

Honestly I had a really hard time enjoying my trip to Arizona because my mind was elsewhere.  Boy nothing can prepare you for how much you worry about your kids!  I'm so thankful for my hubby and parents who took such good care of them while I was gone.  I hate being away when they're sick!!  But anyway, i did TRY to have some fun outside of my work.  My little cousin, Britta from Idaho is on the Beach Volleyball team for Grand Canyon University right in Phoenix.  My aunt & uncle were in town to see her because it was senior week.  It was so nice to see them and hang out a few nights.  I went and watched her volleyball tournament and then we walked around campus and had dinner in her student union.  It was nice to be with family that I don't get to see often!!  I also got to stay at The Biltmore in Phoenix which is probably one of the nicest and well known hotels there.  Almost all the Presidents have stayed there and Marilyn Monroe used to frequent there too.. they even have a pool made for her and named after her.  I didn't get a picture but it's covered in beautiful turquoise tile.  Frank Lloyd Wright designed the hotel.. I've stayed here before but it's just breathtaking.  Wish Kyle could've came with me again this year but oh well!

View from my room.. LOVE the pool!  I did get a little time there :)

The back lawn and the patio where I enjoyed some drinks with clients.

Chess anyone?!?!

You know you're in Arizona when..... :)

ER Visit :(

2 weeks ago Deacon started complaining about his knees and ankles hurting.  I didn't think much of it and chalked it up to growing pains.  Well the next day I get a call from school that his knee is SUPER swollen, can't walk and was breaking out with a rash on his legs.  I was scared to death.. what the heck causes THAT!!!  So I picked him up and drove right to the ER. They of course said first thing is doing blood tests which was the WORST.  Drawing blood from a 4 year old is complete torture.  It took 3 of us to hold him down while he SCREAMED in pain.  Or maybe just from being scared I don't know.  Either way I was crying right there with him.  Then they had to leave the IV in his arm just in case they had to give him anything else.  I eventually asked for them to give him a good pain med because the needle in his arm hurt him really bad and he never stopped screaming.  They gave him a narcotic and he was immediately fine.  We just had to hide the IV in his arm with a blanket.  Well after a few hours of waiting and waiting he was diagnosed with HSP.  NEVER heard of it before so of course I sat on google for most of the time there.  Basically it's an auto immune disease that attacks his blood vessels and causes the joint pain and rash.  It is most common in boys 2-11 years old.  It usually lasts 4-6 weeks and they warned us he may start getting stomach pain soon (that usually comes after the joint pain & rash).  As scary as it was for us and as sucky as this is for Deacon I'm SO GRATEFUL that's what it was.  They told us it could've been other scary things (lupus, etc.) but that was ruled out with the blood tests.  Once we left and saw a pediatrician she said he was a textbook case of HSP.  We just have to monitor him for a few months becuase it can effect their kidneys in rare cases.  The following week I had to go to AZ for work.  I almost didnt go but Kyle assured me they'd be fine and he'd stay home with him.  Well of course that's when his stomach pains came and he did a lot of vomiting :(  I felt horrible I wanted to hop on a plane right away to be with him!!!  I'm SO thankful for Kyle.  He is SUCH an amazing dad and in my opinion goes above and beyond what most dad's do for their children.  I LOVE YOU BABE!!!  Today Deacon is MUCH better.  Well, he FEELS good at least.  The rash might stay around for awhile but atleast the stomach pains are gone and the joint pain is only a little sore at night.  All I can do is thank God for His mercy!!!  This too shall pass....
